This policy explains how MealsLover handles information when you browse the website, contact us, or leave a comment or recipe review.
Who operates MealsLover
MealsLover is operated from Morocco by its creator, who writes under the pen name Sarah Oh. The author portrait and accompanying kitchen illustrations are AI-generated to protect the creator’s privacy. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
Information you choose to provide
The contact form asks for your name, email address, subject and message. We use these details to respond to your request, address corrections and manage correspondence. Please do not include sensitive information that is not needed for your question.
Where comments or recipe ratings are available, WordPress collects the information you submit, including your display name, email address, comment and optional rating, along with technical information such as your IP address and browser user agent. Approved display names, comments and ratings may be public; your email address is not intentionally displayed. Recipe ratings are linked to comments and reviewed before publication; the recipe plugin uses the email address to count one rating per email address.
Technical information and service providers
Our hosting and security services process connection information such as IP addresses, request details, browser information, timestamps and security events to deliver the website and help prevent abuse. We use Cloudflare for content delivery and protection. A Cloudflare measurement beacon also collects page-view and performance information, such as page addresses, referrers, browser characteristics and loading timings. Cloudflare describes this analytics service as using no analytics cookies or cross-site visitor profiling. This is separate from the connection data processed to deliver and protect the website.
Contact messages are processed by Contact Form 7 and the email infrastructure used to deliver replies. The current WordPress setup does not include a separate contact-submission archive plugin. Email providers and backups may retain message copies. Gravatar is enabled for comment avatars: an identifier derived from a commenter’s email address may be used to request an avatar, and loading that image connects the visitor’s browser to Gravatar.
Cookies and browser choices
WordPress uses cookies for authorized logins and related security functions. If you choose the comment-form option to remember your details, WordPress can save your name, email and website in comment cookies. Cloudflare may use security cookies when a protection or verification feature needs them. You can control cookies through your browser; blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or security checks from working.
We currently do not run advertisements, affiliate tracking, sponsorship tracking or a newsletter subscription service. If we introduce new services that change how information is used, we will update this policy and provide any notices or choices required.
How information is used and shared
We use information to operate and secure MealsLover, respond to messages, manage comments and recipe reviews, understand website performance and meet applicable legal obligations. Service providers receive information needed to perform those functions. We may also disclose information where legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse or security incidents.
Retention and international processing
Information is retained for the purposes described above and any applicable legal obligations. Published comments and associated moderation records can remain while the discussion is relevant. Correspondence, server records and backups follow the retention arrangements of the operator and service providers. A deletion request may not immediately remove copies in secured backups or information that must be retained by law.
MealsLover is operated from Morocco, while hosting, content delivery and email services may process information in other countries. Applicable Moroccan notification and international-transfer requirements must be addressed for the services used.
Your choices and requests
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, or to object to a use where applicable law provides that right. We may need proportionate information to verify the request. You may also raise a concern with Morocco’s Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel (CNDP).
Our site is intended for a general audience. Please do not submit personal information about children. If you believe a child has provided information that should be removed, contact us.
